4th ship of a series of identically constructed cargo ships (6 vessels), also see >Rota< - according to Equasis.org: total loss (status of January 27th 2012) - according to Vesseltracker: Enroute Tuzla, Turkey -Varna, Bulgaria the >Rona< which had sheltered off Kilyos due to strong wind, but dragged anchor and went adrift on January 27th 2012, at 05:43 a.m., finally running aground in the surf six miles west of Kilyos in pos. 41° 17'3 50'2 N 028o E. On January 27th, 19:28 the crew of nine on board the >Rona< was safely evacuated from the ship which was being pounded by severe seas on the beach on January 28th between 6.30 and 7.30 p.m. |
