China (No. 97-800TEU-05) - the ship was not taken over by the Flinter shipping company and was towed half-finished to the Netherlands in 2014 - on behalf of "Siemens Wind Power" in 2016, the ship was converted from a container ship to a special ship for the transport of nacelles for directly driven offshore wind turbines by Holland Shipyards B.V., Hardinxveld-Giessendam, Netherlands (building no. HS2015-146) - (ex >Flintercoral<, IMO 9517666, launched in 2008, wasn't completed, laid up in Rotterdam as casco from 2010 to 2014, then began the first reconstruction to the special vessel >Necon 1<, which also wasn't completed, and finally the ship was towed to Hardinxveld in 2016) - Note: from my point of view the IMO 9517666 seems too high for the year 2008, was possibly awarded in the context of the planned reconstruction in 2014, because all sister vessels of >Flintercoral< have IMO's, starting with 937... - furthermore it's very unusual that the original IMO no. was changed at all in case of the reconstructions -. |
