DP3 offshore heavy lift installation vessel - normally equipped with a Liebherr "HLC 295000" crane with a lifting capacity of 5,000 ts and 2 further Liebherr cranes (all currently dismantled) - free deck loading area: 8,000 m2 - on May 2nd 2020, a load test of the heavy lift crane HLC 295000 was carried out in the port of Rostock (Germany). In the process, the hook already broke with a load of only 2,600 ts, but the resulting forces caused the entire crane boom to collapse. The crane is currently being repaired. |
