| Comment | 10:00 a.m., shortly before departure. View towards the island "Munkholmen". Until the Reformation, there was an abbey on the island. In the 17th Century the fortress "Munckholm" was built that also served as a state prison, and the name "Munkholmen" naturalized. During the occupation of Norway in World War II German troops converted the island into a fixed anti-aircraft position. Today the island is a popular summer destination for swimming and sun bathing. |
