| Comment | view on the western gable of the House of the Blackheads "Melngalvju nams". The building, first mentioned in 1334, was built in Gothic style. Major works were done in the years 1580 and 1886, adding most of the ornamentations. In June 1941 the building was bombed to a ruin by the Germans and remained unchanged under the Soviets. Between 1995 and 1999 it was faithfully reconstructed. |
