in front of the same mountain panorama you can see the live fish carrier Harald Martin on a southern course towards "Tjelsundet" - the 923 m high "Middagstinden" is now located above the ship's bridge - a few more words about the live fish carrier: in the past 10 years the size of these carriers increased with the number of fish farms - in 2011 the largest ship had a gross tonnage (GT) of about 1,000 ts, most were under 500 ts - at the time of this photo the "Harald Martin" is, together with its sister ship, with a GT of over 5,900 ts the second largest of its type in Norway - 1 month after "Harald Martin" was commissioned, the currently largest live fish carrier was delivered ("Gaaso Hovding", GT 8,978) |
