| 17.11.2024 | Dear visitors, as you've certainly noticed, I have only been out taking photos 3 times this year. On the one hand, this is because the general traffic situation in the Kiel Canal has worsened in 2024 due to the new regulations (generally reduced maximum speed to protect the bank reinforcements and the associated cost increases due to the extended travel times), so it has rarely been worth it for me to drive 60 minutes by car to the Kiel Canal and then back again. On the other hand, my health situation has changed, so I rarely visit other destinations for longer periods of time, such as Cuxhaven or Warnemuende. At the end of June, a foot injury that I sustained on the second appointment at the Kiel Canal set me back for months, so that I was unable to travel to the Elbe in the summer either. So I cannot currently say what will happen in the future. I am also not sure whether I will be working on another trip next winter for the "special impressions". The trip from Casablanca to Bremerhaven took 19 days, with only 2 days at sea, which means that it was the most extensive trip in terms of the number of photos. This requires an incredible amount of time, as I am very conscientious, as you can see in the "special impressions" that already exist. At the moment I do not see myself in a position to tackle this project (I am a "lion", which means that I do something consistently or not at all - there are no half measures for me). For some time now, usually in bad weather, I have been working my way through the container ship category when time allows and I feel like it. From my point of view, it does not matter how long it takes me, as it is actually an already finished category that I am just optimizing with additional information.
